I have just heard that McDonalds fish sandwiches are made from shark meat. Found out from someone whos cousin works there. Just wondering if this is true, and is it at all McDonalds.

Sounds like the story a few years ago about McDonald's hamburgers were made with worms. I can assure you McDonald's are not going to spend that kind of money to use worms or sharks, they will go as cheap as possible. So to answerer your question, I'm sure that is not true.

That is another urban legend, probably made up by one of the kids behind the counter. Sharks are harder to catch and command a premium price compared to a bunch of other common commercially-caught fish. That is not much incentive for McDonalds to use the sharks.

Fish is not vegetarian. Fish is meat. Most cheese contains rennet. Look at the ingredients list on the McDonald's site. It used to say that the fries contain beef fat. However, I prefer whole, real potatoes that are either cooked or stir-fried in olive oil-- Not stripped of their skins and deep fried in God knows what. I do not trust anything that McDonald's produces and sells (notice I did not say "food") as far as what I can throw a franchise.

Shark meat is worth way freaking more than a dollar. If they were really made of shark meat, fish sandwiches would be worth $50 or more.

I think it is illegal if McDonalds hides the fact that their fish sandwhiches are made of shark meat. Some people could even sue them!

Shark meat is very expensive, this is not something Mcdonalds would use.

You heard wrong. There is no way that McDonalds is selling shark meat for that cheap.

I wish they were made that well. No they are made from Pollack. A cheap fish often used in imitation crab. Shark meat is fairly decent. Unless they changed what they do that's what Mickey D's uses in their fillette of Fosh.

I thought you were going to say something disgusting. I was worried because I just ate one yesterday. Don't scare me like that! I'm just glad to hear it's made from something in the fish family.
