step one, get a new home for your pets. no fish should be sentenced to live in a bowl. Goldfish, if taken care of properly can live 15-25 years. the record for a goldfish was 43 years. You want to have at least 10 gallons of water per fish, at bare minimum. The vets will tell you 20-30 gallons PER FISH. Goldfish are Cold Water Carp... they weren't meant to be in boxes, they were meant to be in ponds, lakes, streams. They need room to grow.
now, for feeding, only feed your fish as much as they'll eat in a few minutes 3 times a day (ideally. goldfish, can be fed 1 or 2 times a day, the same amount).
please take care of your pets... I'm having to deal with my baby dying today... he's probably around 10-15 years old, and 10" long. I've had him for 8 years.
good luck, honey.

Goldfish can get to be well over 6 years and they can grow to be over 12 inches long. Feed your goldfish no more than what they will eat in Two to Three minutes time. Please feed them at least three time daily. Other wise you will not be meeting their dietary needs. Since goldfish do grow to be so large I would move them to at least a 30 gallon tank.

Cared for properly (and barring some sort of miracle) they can live for up to 40 years.
There as rumours that Chinese keepers have kept some for over 60 years, but I suspect this is a myth.

It depends on how well you take care of them. Like if you overfeed it, not feed it enough, or if their bowls are dirty, it might not live as long. And feeding wise, dont put to many flakes, just a sprinkle.

There has been rare reports of goldfish living for 20years. Also I have heard that its best to feed comets 3 flakes and fancy gold fish pellets rather then flakes because its better for their digestive system.

In a bowl, your goldfish will be lucky to live three to four weeks. They live 40 years in proper accomodations like at least a 20 gallon to 40 gallon aquarium. You bought BABIES, they grow BIG.

well some live for 10 years, but your two in that bowl won't last long, don't worry about feeding it unless you move them to at least a 30 gallon.
