Maybe some missionary that has made a real difference in people's lives, or some physician or scientist that has come up for a cure for a disease, or someone that has went out of their way to save the lives of or make a difference in the lives of others.

I'm sorry but I think that giving knighthoodd is ridiculous! There are many people out there doing good work and trying hard to bring change to this world but the world might never even know there name and yet they are active. Those people doing it out of their own generosity without expecting anything won't be given knighthoo, will they? So why when some celebrities who have loads of money to throw around do one little thing people fall at their feet? They've been given so much in life, it's about time they give without asking back!! If someone has to be given knighthood it shouldn't be a celebrity as people know their actions! It should be given to people who are truly dedicated to it! Or maybe it shouldn't be given out at all!

Jamie Oliver and anyone else who has actually made a difference to better society. i have never understood why footballers get OBEs and Knighthoods. and also June Sarpong was given an MBE...why!!? so many ordinary people are unsung heroes but the titles tend to go to celebrities!!

Samuel Jackson - because he always plays the hero...well mostly plays the hero and it'd be really nice to see a respectable black man granted with something other than scrutiny and unique awe (as if blacks are "typically" incapable of achievement. LOL)

Bono because he is one of the few celebrities that have used their fame for constructive purposes and he has worked his entire life for the causes that he believes in.
