Definitely fantasies, because they take you places you could never go and show you stuff you could never see in real life. They're a kind of escape from the real world, but only if you're willing to exercise your imagination

I love history so so like to read history books. Also though I love to read about what goes on behind the scenes, like to read books that reveal secrets. This can cover almost any subject in the world and can take in books about spies, spycatchers, things like Memoirs of a Bow Street Runner, crooked politicians like Hillary and Bill Clinton or the life of William Shakespeare.

I am currently reading Between Silk and Cyanide by Leo Marks. An account of his SOE service during the war. A book I'd recommend, very very funny book as well as being sad, serious and revealing a lot of behind the scenes activity. If you have a sense of humour this is the book for you (the first sentence reads "In January 1942 I was escorted to the war by my parents in case I couldn't find it or met with an accident on the way").

Happy reading folks

Saga! where you can follow the characters over many years and watch the generations come and go. Books set during WW2 , tales of the East end of London and the people who lived there during the 1930s,40,s&50s are my favorite kind of books.

I love historical fiction or Christian Fiction plus the classics. Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott are my 2 favorites as for the historical fiction Cleopatra, Henry the Vlll and his wives, Troy, Marie Antoinette. I love books about people in history but there is something about seeing their personal side. It make me want to research the truth and study the historical aspect if I feel I know them.

I like love stories that are funny - i don't like the love stories that are all dramatic - but just a simple relationship with some humor!
But my most of all favorite is the Book of Mormon - you should try reading it! It's got mystery, love, suspense, anything you can imagine!

I like fiction that makes me laugh and makes me think - at the moment this seems to come from Sci-Fi Fantasy.
Without a doubt my favourite authors are Douglas Adams, Tom Holt, Terry Pratchett and (this one got in under the wire - historical detective fiction that makes me laugh and think) Lindsey Davis.
Tom Holt is lovely, the early stuff is classical and amazing, the new stuff I have to read as soon as it's off the presses, this is a really smart guy who prods your brain whilst you are laughing your socks off.
