I have My guppies in a 10 gallon tank and I take the back corner where I can see good and the same side that Doesn't have the filter and I put my Plants in that corner and bring them to the front of the tank. When I get done putting in my Plants about 1/3 of my Tank has plants in it . I get different sizes of plants. I also make sure that the plants come to the top of the water. So the Babies can come to the top to eat.
I use plastic plants you can buy at a Pet Store, Wal-Mart ,Ect. I haven't had good luck with Live Plants. The babies will stay hid in the Plants. Some of the babies will get eatten and some might get sucked up in the filter. That is why I keep my plants away from the filter.
The Mother guppies will hide in the plants when they are going to have the babies. Good Luck on the guppies.

No. First, guppies do not lay eggs. They give birth to live young. Guppies just need at least a 5 gallon tank and if you're serious about keeping the fry, a seperate tank for them. If you don't want to put them in another tank just stock the main tank up with lots of plastic or live plants for the fry to hide in. (Guppies will readily eat their own babies) You should do some research and you'll find tons of stuff about guppies online. Good luck with your guppies!

I don't think you need anything, b/c guppies don't lay eggs they have live birth. You will just see little babies swimming around. You need to give them a place to hide or put the parents in a breeding box bought at the local pet store, b/c they will eat the babies! Have fun!

First of all guppies are livebearers. They don't lay eggs. They give birth to fully developed young like we do. As for the plants I would suggest Java Moss, Hornwort or Water Sprite.

Guppies are live breeders (meaning they have live babies, they dont lay eggs). If you want the fry (babies) to survive though you need to be sure to give them lots of plant cover (java ferns are great for this as are filigree myrio) Good Luck :)
