Yes at least in MI...and with it prices on everything will raise so it's like you haven't made a dime more. Throw that in with the fact you'll be on par with people who have been working retail for a year and will feel they've got no incentive to hang around there...it's a good time for all!

YES, but the problem is its 10 years to late*.. It has not been raised for 10+ years*.. If you want to call that a raise after ten+ years of no raise*.. What a joke, and because you will not receive the full amount until 2010 because it is on a graduated basis*.. The actual amount of the raise for being without a raise for 12 yrs {1997 to 2010} is 17.6cents an hour*.. The politicians screwed us big time by calling this a fair and equitable wage increase*.. Would anyone want to work for 12 yrs for a 17.6 cent increase in their paycheck?* Thats insane**....

Sure, people who can't get a real rais e because they don't deserve it now get one. Those of us who worked hard to be above minimum wage get screwed. Now prices for food, fuel and everything else will jump up to make up for the increase and we all suffer. Good job government morons.

I know my local box store is already starting out at 7.00 with a raise of .50 cents in 90 days. Market is already adjusting to that level because of the cost of living.

where do you live? i don't know. it's different everywhere. unless you're talking about the federal minimum wage. each state has its own minimum wage, and then there's a federal minimum.

Yes! I heard that it is supposed to raise 2 whole dollars!!!!! But you should know, it doesn't matter about money, or the way you look, what really matters, is what's in your heart, and if God likes that, because he loves you, and you should love him!!!
