Okay the below website is THE best site for free emoticons and you dont even have to download anything! Just have to save into your "my pictures" file and then go to where you have all your emoticons click on create and voila!!

Try SmileyPad (avoid Smiley Central though - ridden with spyware and causes real problems for some people)
Ohhh and I trawl around ebays community boards snagging them!!!!
