Hello dear!
They sound the same, character being original Greek term while personality is from Latin!
There is no "personality" without character, while a character might not express so deeply the personality.
Some times personality might not be such well off personality, similarly personality, occasionally might not be of a great character!
Tough question! I would pick character!
