Here is my favorite site for info on mesopotamia. It is called Gateway to Babylon. Loads and loads of great information. Good luck with your project. I also have many books on ancient mesopotamia myself, so if you get stuck you can email me and I will gladly assist you in any way I can.

Stay away from Wikipedia. Remember they had Sinbad dead when he wasn't, and anyone can edit, so it's not reliable, unless you want some 14 year old in Kalamazoo making up your history, you need to use a tried and true informations site.

Do a project on the Maya. They're the best.
To do so, read Collapse by Jared Diamond. It rocks.

The ancient Greeks are a good subject. Try Homer.

www.wikipedia.org is the best place to start, IMO. They have links at the bottom of each page that will help you on your way.
You might consider doing a project on the ancient Spartans. They were interesting. :)
Good luck! :)

If you go with Rome, try www.theromanway.org. Lots of good info and links.
Stay away from wikipedia, whatever you do.

i honestly do not recommend any internet sites especially wikipedia. doing any real research requires the use off books and/or journals.
