besides nails on a chakboard! for me its when little kids are drawing on paper with markers and they press down on the marker too hard... eek! i hate that!

Here's one for you, but bear in mind, I'm a long time musician and performer...
For decades, performing drummers worked hard to get a flat bass drum sound on stage; padding the drum heads to avoid reverberation.
Any of the classic rock of the 70s will bear this out.
Then, along comes "hip-hop" with this booming, reverberating bass drum that sounds like the one in a high school marching band, lol.
Now, teenagers all over the country seem to think this is cool. If it isn't rattling windows, it's not boomy enough.
Hey, Sparky, can you crank it up just a tad? I've still got a few rear fillings in my mouth that haven't shaken loose...

Ugh, that's bad ! ( I can hear the visuals of the the squeaky markers...:o( For me, my neigbhors who live upstairs! I don't know WHAT they're doing at 3 AM, clomping around (with shoes, even) . It even sounds like they're bowling up there! Sometimes I can hear them having all sex and my god, the woman is a *screamer*! I usually turn up my stereo to Wagner or Opera, and they stop..but when I turn off the music they're at it again! Sigh!

I am down like four flat tires with the person who said open mouth gum chewing too!!! Disgusting!!! Especially while talking! Oh and Brittney Spears!!! sheesh!

people smacking on their food in a silent room. Especially when I'm sleeping or just waking up.
I also hate the sound of dishes falling on the floor in the next room. It makes me so angry!

Wild puma-like screaming neighbor children. That's all our neighbor kids do all day every day...they play outside, but aren't capable of playing without screaming like banshees non-stop.
And I'm not talking about regular children's play "screams/laughing", I'm saying these kids have blood curdling, murder victim type screams.

an alarm clock- i have one that the beeping is so annoying it'll wake me up in a bad mood and then the rest of the day is off. nowadays i use my cellphone as an alarm to wake me up to ringtones. (:
