Oooh cute look! I'm doing a 1940s vibe at my wedding in September! here are some links I've found with great pictures! look at movies and such from then, a big one apparently is grease! And Christina Auguilera used the 50s (and 40s) as inspiration for her new album so look at some of her videos, I LOVE the candy man video-- the girls at the icecream bar look so cute!

I would suggest watching episodes of I Love Lucy or rent movies which feature fashion icons Grace Kelly, Katherine Hepburn or Audry Hepburn. Each one of these women had the classic elegance of the 1950's.

There are also wonderful books in the Fashion section at your local bookstores.

Just remember, women were completely pulled together during this time period and feminity is the key. Think full-circle skirts which accentuate the waste. Fitted tops with feminine detail. Also gloves, clutch purses, and pearls were important accessories.

I hope this helps.
