I could give a big long list like everyone else, but I guess it really depends on what you mean by "grow up listening to" as I listened to different things at different points of my "youth". But when I saw this question one thing came to mind that I remember the first time I heard and know the words well and it's really more of a "routine" than a song, and I wouldn't even say it fits into any musical genre but it inspired me to answer at least. And that was "Earache my Eye" by Alice Bowie (aka Cheech and Chong).

the 40's, 50's, and 60's. I graduated in 1970. My parents had a wide range with music. We got swing, rock, blues, jazz, pop, and country, and today I still like it all and yes I do remember lots of words to songs from when I was a kid.

I grew up listening to a lot of Christian music (since I was raised in a Christian home), and I still like some of that stuff today. No, I can't remember all the words, but I can remember some....Now I'm just a full-blown heathen. ^_^
