The unknown blogger from yesterday is correct. There will be no effect on liberal media sources outside of broadcast airwaves. What this means is that the Liberal establishment and the "Left", "New Left", "Hard Left", and "Net-roots" will continue to dominate mainstream media and information outlets. There is no fairness doctrine with regards to print media, public schools and government subsidized universities; and we all know how well they are doing.
The fairness doctrine will not affect Internet blogging, the rule for squelching dissent is "Net Neutrality", however Daily Kos, HuffPost and Digg will continue to spew vile filled hate speech against conservative bloggs like Townhall, Michele Malkin, HotAir, and LGF-because they operate under the guise of "fair and openminded" in allowing diatribes to be posted. Dennis Prager summed this idea up nicely on Tuesday, with "Notice how the MSM always identifies a conservative writer with the qualifier, "Conserviative", but a liberal or left writer is identified only by their professional creditals or by name."
For the record, Town Hall, MM, HotAir and LGF will reject hate speech posts and remove nasty reply commentary from their sites. Further, if a blogger persists in being obnoxious and offensive, they will be blocked from the site and fairly effectively prevented from sneaking in. This doesn't happen on KOS OR HuffPost. It's encouraged by the readership. (Perhaps that might expalin why readership is DOWN at KOS?.hmmmm)
The "Good Guys/Gal" don't want pot and pan bangers sidetracking the conversation and reducing the content of discussion to KaDyS (Kosak Dysfunctional Syndrone) explitives and non-sequitor insane ramblings.
Lets be realistic here and look at history. Everything that works great about America works great because of the free and open MARKETPLACE of ideas. Remember people, America in a CAPITALIST nation, and our revolution was founded because we wanted to pick and choose and tax for ourselves. If your product is bad, you can fool some people for some time, but not all people all the time. If your ideas are bankrupt (re:Socialism/Communism), you may get them accepted for a short period, but in the long run they will not stand up under the weight of their own heavy handed micromanagement and social inadequicy.
The tenacity of the liberal-left is ferocious. It has to be, because in the FREE MARKET of IDEAS, they have a very small market and no freedom of ideas. The only way they can succeed is through force of law, via beauracy or the courts. The question remains will you allow your freedom to be dictated to you "fairly". There is NO FREEDOM IN FAIRNESS.
I yeld the soapbox.

What would CNN do?
Its hilarious how liberals need to legislate the fact that there is no market or demand for their liberal tripe.
The American people have spoken, and they voted in President Bush for 8 years, they have made Conservative radio like Rush Limbaugh the highest rated political talk shows, and Fox News creams the liberal left wing media.
So what do liberals do?
Cry and whine and try to shut down the truth.

Fairness doctrine does not apply to hard-print or the internet, only public airwaves.

They wouldn't be effected. The libs control almost all of the media and it frosts their onions that conservatives actually have a platform to get their views out. Thats why they want to kill talk radio. Even a single voice of opposition is too much for them to tolerate. Who supports free speech again, lefty?

i think the Conservatives have more to worry about. that's why more cons are freaking out, not liberals. and we are usually the ones up in arms about restrictions on freedoms.
