Ocean ; Lakes ;quarry ; Private or Public pool ?

I've grown really accustomed to public pools, I have access to a private pool but I almost never use it. Open water seems kind of scary to me and besides I live close to NYC so #1: all of the water is horribly polluted, #2: Shipping lanes are everywhere and swimming open water could be extremely dangerous and #3: the water's never as warm as I'd like it (I know it's a bit of an excuse but it's much more convienient to go to the public pool). I know the chlorine really gets to my hair bad but I'm a competitive swimmer so I really need the walls as well and I'm also a sprint swimmer so have to almost perfect my flip turns whenever possible.

I swim 6 days a week 4 of them for 5 hours the other two days i do 2 1/2 hours, I am on a swim team and I pretty much keep it to lap pools but a good lake swim will give you some resistance and a different challenge

I swim whenever I get the chance! I try to train 4 to 5 days a week. I prefer the ocean or bay, then a lake and lastly a pool. As an endurance athlete swimming in open water keeps it fresh after a few miles and since I compete mainly in open water I prefer to train there. I also find open water much more relaxing than an enclosed, stuffy chlorinated pool.

i am on swim team, i love to swim. its great exersize and i love to swim in the ocean, and our public and some private pools. why u are asking this question i have no clue. lol

I swim 2 twice a day no joke. 3 hr a day. I swim competivily and my favorite time to swim is in the morning. 6:00am to be exact!
