So, I'm planning to buy tickets to go see the ballet in Houston, the only problem is, I don't know which I should see, or whether I should just get a subscription. Can anyone help me out? I've listed the performances below...

The Merry Widow
The Four Seasons
Jubilee of Dance
The Nutcracker
Gershwin Glam
Cinderella
La Sylphide

Here's also a link to their website FYI

If you've never seen a ballet before, I would suggest going to one you are familiar with. Most everyone knows the basics of The Nutcracker and I'm sure you know Cinderella. I think the pageantry of the Nutcracker is something that everyone loves, but you may be able to follow the story of Cinderella much more easily.

Have a great time!

The Nutcracker is wonderful if you are going for Christmas. It's a very nice Christmas story. The costumes are beautiful and the music is exceptional. If you're going at any other time of the year, I would see Cinderella. It's great! The dancing is wonderful, and everything else is also great. Also, there's one wonderful ballet you did not list; Swan Lake. If you ever have time, I would defenetly see this one. It's definitly one of my favorites. Good luck, and I Hope you love the ballet!

Which do you like. If you go to Wikipedia.com. You will be able to see the variations of plays. Some are comical some may be less comical. Try to look them up based on there revelance to what you will be in the mood for. I think La Sylphide is a tale of tragedy. I could be wrong though. Good Luck and all.
