I went to a very small school so it was kinda hard to not hang out with everyone a little bit. There was less than 100 kids in each grade level. I'd say I was popular I guess. I was really involved with all kinds of things from Spanish club, to varsity sports for 3 years, and student government, church youth groups, etc. I think being so involved and knowing just about everyone in town was what played the role of me being popular. I played sports, I partied like a rock star, I was friendly and always stood up for the "small guy" as well as being witty and popular with the teachers. What can I say? I hung out with the stoners, the jocks, the intellectuals, the do gooders, and the skin heads (I went to HS in the late 80's early 90's).

i hung out with the drunken group who were also smarties. I guess i was popular in a way, but not in that Mean Girl way. High school is a small place so it's easy to get popular, and even if you're not popular people still know who you are, so i dont see the point of trying to grab attention from everybody. But thats how the world goes isn't it.

I wasn't really popular, but i wasn't an outcast either. I was in the middle, friends with the popular kids, but didn't hang out with them. Not sure what group that would make me, but it was fun.

I wasn't in the least bit popular. I tended to mingle mainly with the strays - a most interesting group, who were all peculiar and unpopular in their own ways. It seemed fitting that I had such friends. After all, the popular kids were generally mean-spirited carbon copies of one another, anyway.

I was a hippie freak, and got along with everybody. 3000 kids in my school.
Before the race riots would start the Brothers would warn me so I could get my *** home.
That was an act of friendship, I guess I was popular, but not in a cliqueish way.
I still talk to old friends from school from 37 years ago.

I'm in the ghetto group of kids. I go to a rich school... but a hand full of us our poor and live in the ghetto... like me. We just got chosen to go to this school because we're smart. so yeah. I'm not mean to anybody but a lot of people are mean to me. I'm not popular at all.. but I'm also not a nerd or a loner. I have about 5 good friends and that's all that matters to me.

Hello - Never saw "Mean Girls" but knew some mean folks. In school popular kids help others or put out good or best efforts.

I was a cheer-leader all through junior and senior high, but, I had my own set of friends ... friends that I played with since the first grade. I'm not saying the "popular" kids weren't worth hanging out with ... they just didn't hold the same interests that I did. :)

I was teased daily for being fat and ugly and then I had the wonderful support of my parents to do the same thing in a little more subtle tone at the end of the day.
I had no friends, no best friend, hung out with guys but was a drifter.

What really is popular? My grade really doesn't have cliques, but I know how harmful and damaging mean girls, or even mean boys are. They can only effect you if you let them. Why waste your time even caring about what other people think about you?
