I usually use a fork. A whisk makes more of a mess to me sometimes. A fork is more handy and easier to clean.

I use a wire whisk to beat eggs. They come out much fluffier than when using just a fork.

I use a whisk or a fork depending upon how angry I am with them. Sometimes I use a belt to whisk them if they are really naughty! They are going to have to learn to listen.
