I've had religious fanatics give me dirty looks, and assume I'll going to hell because I'm left-handed. Where's the logic in that?

One time some stupid 16 year old kid went as far as telling me I'm a freak and that I belonged in a cage! I just told him to shove it and said that left-handed people are in their "right-mind." lol. But, he was ignorant, so I doubt the message went through.

Did you tell him that you are the one who is in their right mind? I hope so, damn those right handers and their religious righteousness!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a lefty too!

There are quite a lot of myths and legends that posit that anything on the left is in the "direction of evil" - even Judas is said to have sat on Jesus' left at the last supper, IIRC, though the supersition is far, far older than that.
Funnily enough, there are just as any myths saying that a left-hander is lucky (shake with a left-handed man on new year's day, almost all supersitions involving turning something to "turn" your luck say to turn to the left, etc.)
The short answer is: They're idiots. XD

A long, long, long time ago, people use to think that being left-handed was associated with evil. They even used to force kids to use their right hands to write, even if they were naturally left-handed. If you talk to some older left-handed people they may even be able to use both hands because they were forced for so long. Some use their right hand to write, but do everything else left-handed.
But like I said...that was a long, long, long time ago. I didn't know anyone was still around that thought that. But there are still a lot of ignorant people around, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Where the heck were you? What religion was that? I am left handed, too and I've never been told I was a sinner! There is NO logic at all in that, so don't worry, which hand you use has nothing to do with religion!

There is no logic in that. They're idiots. In religious ideology being of the "right-hand", means you are a believer. But some people take it literally. It doesn't mean if you're left-handed you're going to hell.

I am left handed too. and i am religious, where is the contradiction?
The preference is to use the right hand, but by no means are you going to hell for not.
Its just that there are things religiously that are not preferable.
As far as left-handedness is concerned, that comes from the fact that the devil uses his left hand and it is preferable that we do not do things the way he does.
In islam we do things starting with the right. Example, if you are putting on your jeans, right foot first.
If you are washing yourself, start with the right, then the left.
sleep on the right side of your body.
Preferably use the right hand to eat.

Oh don't worry with them. IT goes back to even before the days of witch hunting because they used to say left handed people were the children of demons & humans. It was also used as a 'sign' to recognise witches by. I think this guy Micah Armstrong is a part of that too

They're big on conformity, if they can change something natural and normal to you, then they know they can mold you into their image. Anyone that's different frightens them, because they might doubt their faith and what they've been told, some have very fragile belief systems. Same reason a lot of people were burned as witches tried for being heretics etc.

No logic at all. They are behaving that way based on man's traditions and superstitions. I am left-handed myself. You tell them to give you a solid scripture in the bible that says, a left handed person is going to hell?

I know you are not tripping off, of what someone thinks about you. Giving, you dirty looks, well give them one back. Who are they, or anyone in that matter, know you will end up that is been the Lord and you.
They need to be concern, about where they may end up.

I used to be left handed until the Catholic school got to me
and hit my hand with a ruler until I used my right hand
but now I am ambi....must be the evil in me...lol
