The pinnacle of ideals is selflessness.

As an ideal, it is something difficult to practice, let alone reach on occasion. However, it is the paradigm ideal for what we ought to do with our time on this earth-- live for others.

Truth is equally elusive, but if ever realized, what then? Genuine selflessness improves and perpetuates life, whereas truth satisfies. The key difference, however, is that the search and discovery of truth is a solitary and personal satisfaction. Altruism is the connection of people with people, and people are verily the most important thing.
