Please revise this sentence please?
I DO NOT want to change the wording at all really just want to know where punctuation goes and definitely want to leave word situation in there. Please revise any writers, teachers, or people with great writing skills :-)

I think renting an apartment for now would be a great situation.

Is it "would be", "will', or "is" in sentence? Also is it think or thought? "Think" is right I guess.

You don't need any punctuation inside the sentence. "Would" is correct, since it's only a probability at this point, so you use the conditional--a tense based on a condition not guaranteed to occur. I know you want to keep the wording, but instead of "I think," my personal preference is "I believe." The reason for this is that you're expressing an OPINION or belief. I would also change "great," to "excellent," but it certainly isn't wrong to say "great" even though it doesn't really express the meaning you want to convey. And finally, you say you want to keep "situation," but if I were writing the sentence, I would say "solution."

Either put:

I thought renting an apartment for now would be a great situation. - Past tense.

or

I think renting an apartment for now will be a great situation. - Present Tense

You use "think" for present tense obviously. I would suggest not using situation at the end of the sentence, it doesn't seem to make sense. You can say: I think renting an apartment would be the most suitable situation for me now.

I would leave our "for" and I would think of a different word other than "situation".

I think renting an apartment now would be a great (idea, solution, time)

Simpler, clearer and not sounding pompous would be:

I think that renting an apartment now, would (or will) be great.

I feel "for" and "situation" in this sentence sound a bit archaic and pompous, used by elite groups. The average global citizen may find it hard to "copy" and use such sentence in normal, everyday speech.

I think renting an apartment now would greatly enhance my situation.

Using "for" before "now" is redundant and does nothing to clarify the thought.

At the risk of being accused of being a stickler for detail, there is no such thing as "passed" tense. The correct word is "past" when referencing tense.
