Most of it is the mechanic just racking your vehicle up, looking underneath it while he eats a ham n cheese sandwich, and then puts 100 check marks on a piece of paper. Any easy repairs or maintenance he feels he can do, he will try to sell you. Thats how a multi point inspection really works.

Checklist usually includes basic operating systems of the vehicle and is basically a visual inspection for anything out of the ordinary like noises, excessive leaks, excessive wear or play, frame or body damage, corrosion, etc...brakes, suspension, steering, engine, trans, HVAC, lights, interior, exterior, driving/steering, exhaust, tires and so on.
