Oh, and also their children. I've noticed in the news the last few weeks that seems to be all you hear. There was a guy in Missouri who has been charged with killing his wife and three children in their vehicle. Then the guy in Ohio charged with killing his 9 months pregnant wife. I saw on the news yesterday this wrestler has killed his wife and child and himself. In a local paper here a man killed his wife, stepdaughter, then himself. He wounded a stepson, but he survived. This seems like a lot of incidents in a really short period of time. Makes me wonder if it is drugs, steroids, mental illness?

There are alot of those in the news lately and to me it is just sad....There is no one reason that it is happening...some people tend to only care for their wants and needs and never think of others....

There has always been the same percentage of such crimes; the only difference lately is that the press, always desperate for readership/viewership/listenership has taken up this topic in an effort to keep their audience. In a few weeks you'll be wondering about a totally different "rash of incidents" because the press will decide that you've grown bored hearing about spousal abuse and murders.
Do you know the leading cause of death amongst pregnant women? Homicide...

People kill people and that's just the harsh truth, just because the media have been reporting more cases where men kill their own families does not mean we should treat men any different or single them out. It's just as sad when a mother kills her own offspring like the one female who tried to kill all her daughters by hanging then herself, only to have the youngest one survive, leaving the father and his only surviving child in a sad situation. I agree with chinaman's comments.

Do a search on domestic violence then study the issue. Many women are killed by their husbands, significant others, all the time. It gets into the news when the persons involved are famous or the circumstances are exceptionally horrifying-or the victim is pregnant.

husbands kill wives, wives kill husbands, children kill parents, parents kill children, it happens everyday, everywhere. just because all of a sudden the main stream media reports a few of these in a short period of time, doesn't mean there is a 'rash of incidents'. the media eventually will run out of interesting news, so they put on a few of these to get people's attention. i mean, do you really want to see cnn, msnbc or fox go on and on about the election, the fighting in gaza, iraq war, nukes in north korea?? news is a business, and its customers like new things to be on news, for a change of pace, so they switch between depressing world news, to depressing murders and other things

There are family laws that men hate and now a days
lots of them are depressed.

Cannot find proper employment, their world is turning upside down for which they have no control.

Some church goers cannot do anything about the people
talking about Atheists, talking about gays and lesbian
marriages, their sons sent to fight the never ending war, etc
etc. all these things contribute to frustration.

zento1110 No tradgically there has been and this is why. The devil and his demons know that Jesus is at the door. So they are putting evil thoughts into peoples hearts and minds so they can steal their souls ! Even moms have been killing their kids. So excepting Jesus into our hearts is the only way to get into heaven and escape the wrath of the enemy !

reasons men kill....they love the wife, she doesn't love him, he can't live without her. He would rather her be dead than anyone else have her..Some kill themselves also...another: she is pregnant, he is supporting kids from another marriage, has one with her, doesn't want another....so he kills her and the baby as per Ohio...another: the alimony awarded the wife leaves the man broke, he is working to support her..a bitter divorce...rather kill her and spend life in prison, than give her a dime.

yup. even the wrestler chris benoit strangled his wife before killing himself. i watch lots of shows on courtv and lots of wives are getting killed at an alarming rate. but i think the wives make it easier for the men to kill em because maybe they are serious nags or want all his money during divorce so that the dude is sooooooooooo angry he just wants her obliterated. not that i support this off course

I have noticed this alot too. I can't imagine this... if things are that bad I would think that someone might kill themselves... but why take your loved ones lives as well... especially children. How can someone do that?
