I don't mean the daughter, but the parents?
It only seems to be people talking and the internet that is picking up this message!
Why hasn't the news picked up on it?

Because Maddy is still missing and the parents are suffering enough and maybe they are awaiting the outcome of the case. Everyone knows though that they definitely did the wrong thing and their attitude since has been arrogant. They should not try and make out that they have done nothing wrong - nobody with a brain leaves 3 babies alone in a foreign country - never mind abduction what about choking, falling out of bed and hitting their heads, fire breaking out, kids wandering out of the apartment and getting run over - drowning in pool - the list is endless. They must know this - we all do!

Personally, i think they're just waiting until they find the girl or the body, before they start being really nasty. Some have started it already, saying they shouldn't have left their three children alone, and even asking if the parents had something to do with her dissapearance (one reporter in a press conference about a month ago asked if the parents had murdured her). But they will probably wait until we find out what has happened to the child before they start any major anti-McCann campaign.

Ususally an editor will dictate to the reporting team how an issue is to be handled. Obviously in this instance they played it for the sympathy vote. Outside these sort of pages, there will be no change until enough people complain to the paper and they feel in danger of a drop in revenue. One way to really hit home is to protest to the paper's main advertisers. Advertising pays for the paper - not people. An ad manager has more power in the press than an editor - I've been there, I've seen it.

I emailed sky news and asked them this very question but of course didnt get any response. Told them they should check out YA LOL so they could see what their viewers really want. The media doesnt give a crap about anything except what sells so that is why I am surprised they have not seen how many non supporters of the family their are, how many supporters of justice for Madeleine there are. I think they are scared to because of the parents social status. I know the US is barely covering it anymore.

Plato where is the proof that the perpetraitors are not indeed the parents themselves. The only thing I have seen or heard is the parents word is the only evidence showing she was "taken". Sure i want the perpetraitor found and convicted but nobody knows who that even is because the parents did not tell the truth in the beginning so what makes anyone think they are telling the truth about anything else.

LOL @ the loving parents comments. Loving parents dont leave their children alone in a foreign country, in the dark, where they could wake up frightened, wake up in the dark trip and get a severe head injury, and um DUH!!!! leave the da*n door unlocked. That is not a loving parent to me. It is not a mistake it is lack of common sense and pure stupidity.

Because it just is not as widespread as you think. It's only on this forum and some others likes it where people are anonymous and therefore cannot be identified that some people are prepared to voice such vile thoughts.

In normal human interaction, these people would have to face the opprobrium of their fellow humans if they expressed these views and face the fact that they are, in fact, in the minority - since, in my view, they cannot do that, they resort to spreading their venom here.

The fact that a forum like this, and those posting on it, might also be comparatively immune to litigation simply means that those posting don't even have to consider the truth of what they are saying before they put it out there.

I am certain that, if the newspapers had CREDIBLE information that coincided with even the least of the wild accusations made on here, they would report it since they would have evidence to justify it if threatened with litigation. The most probable explanation, to me, of the fact that they have not done so is that no such information exists.

As for the fact that they have the head of the Media Monitoring Unit involved, well so what? As British citizens who have been the victims of a serious crime in a foreign country, they are entitled to the support and help of their government. You or I, in similar circumstances, would be entitled to no less.

BB2002 more people should know this information.

I have not been in love with the McCanns but this does seem to put a different perspective on things.

How did they get him so quickly??

I have just called the COI and they refuse to confirm whether Clarence Mitchell is continuing to recieve his full salary whilst working fot the McCanns.

I don't think the Press can be gagged because the broadsheets aren't falling over themselves in favour of the McCanns. It's really only the tabloids who are completely hypocritical anyway. They will eventually do a 360 degree turn if and when it suits them.

Because most of the press are from upper middle class backgrounds and probably share the same kind of family life whereby the Au Pair is responsible for raising the kids - and when on holiday you stick them in the kids club, because kids are an inconvenience for the modern high flying professional.

i think they may be. the daily mirror added a sarcastic piece yesterday, about the Malta saga as "the family are not following it up" the first bit was about the sightings and descriptions and was quite positive. Then the bolt was thrown in at the very end.
