Actually, the more we learn of science, the more we realize that any change we are likely to make would be harmful. Extremely small changes to the physical laws would make our known universe impossible. Whenever we think the world is better off without a particular 'pest', we discover how that organism is important to the whole ecosystem.

It's probably like the American system of government. It is terrible, and has all kinds of flaws, but there just doesn't seem to be a better one.

Grass shouldn't grow longer than 3".
The wind should not blow harder than 35 MPH.
It should only rain at night.
The sun should shine every day, and the temperature should always be 75 Deg. F.
There should not be any flies or mosquitos.
Ocean waves should be limited to a 3 foot max. height.
Only plants that are useful to be used as food, or medicine, or shade, or beauty should be allowed to grow.

This is just my short list.
