Hey, i dont know much about computer(though id like to) but im having some troubles with my laptop. i think i might have deleted some stuff i shouldnt have from the system files but i dont know for sure.

The problem is that whenever i open the internet it freezes and i have to alt+ctrl+delete out of it, and my laptop says there is no internet connection when i know there is one( i have tested it with other computers). I have really screwed up my computer bad.. i have tried to delete accounts and remake them.and a bunch of other stuff i shouldnt have tried.

Anyways, if someone could get back to me with a helpful answer and maybe some basic knowlede of how to keep a computer working smoothly. that would be great.

BTW! im running windows XP, and i have just dowmloaded mozilla, still doesnt work. though it doesnt freeze. my comp still says there no internet.and make your answers really basic, im a noob haha

Yeh... I agree with them ... But before burning your data on to the CD/DVD ... run the Anti-Virus program ... Clean the virus if you have any ... otherwise you will be in trouble ...

I'd say trying out a System Restore should do the trick, as stated by the earlier contributors. However, as last resort, I'd say that reinstallaing the OS with new system files ONLY AFTER backing up your data. This is done by proceeding as you would do a normal OS installation, however, in the last step, you shall maintain the same partition without formatting it and reinstall on the same partition.

the best advice would be take all your personal files out of the computer and restore it to factory settings using the original cds. it will be brand new again and fast as well.

use system restore in safe-mode,to restore your pc back to a date & time when you know it was working good. Start all programs>accessories>system tools>System Restore: Just pick a date on the calender on the left when you know your pc was functioning properly, click on a time on the right)

Always worked for me when my pc froze.

run antivirus to check if you have any suspicious files.

1. back up all your data
2. use factory restore CD to restore to your original computer setting.
