My name is Tyler, i'm 17 years old. me and my younger sister are without parents. We are in this orphanage, all the kids here are sad or mad or even angry at what happened to their parents. This guy, the same age as me, his parents died at the same time. this 16 year old, his dad died before this guy was born and his mum just died. This other 16 year old, his parents died in a car crash and a fight. There's these 15 year old twins, their mum died and their dad ditched them. there's this 14 year old who's mum died and his dad ditched him. there's this 13 year old, his dad committed suicide. there's this 8 year old, his mum committed suicide. a 7 year olds mum died of depression. A 5 year old here accidently killed her parents. another 5 year old, her dad left her after her mum died. a 3 year old here, his dad ed his mum, so now his dad is in jail. a 1 year old, both of his parents ditched him. Isn't this all sad. everyone fights here, and i wish i had a friend.

I pretty much never get to see my sister because she's in the middle age group and i'm in the older group.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. You may want to call Childline and speak to a councellor about how you are feeling.
You can call from any telephone, including phone boxes and mobiles. The number is - 0800 1111. The lines are very busy, so if you can't get through at first, do keep trying (sometimes it helps if you keep pressing redial).

And there's a special helpline called The Line for any young person living away from home. This is the helpline for you if you live in a foster home or a children's home, if you're at boarding school or you've been in hospital for a long time. You can call The Line on 0800 88 44 44 from 3.30pm to 9.30pm on weekdays and 2pm to 8pm at weekends.

You can also write to ChildLine instead.
ChildLine, Freepost NATN1111, London E1 6BR - and you don't have to use a stamp.

Talking to someone may help. And if ever you need somone to talk to - feel free to email me. I'm not a councellor, but I am a good listener.
I hope things get better for you all. Take care of yourselves and each other.

You've got your younger sister, kid. It's not sad, it's the way of the world. Recognize it, as young as you are. Count your blessings: You've got your sister with you; you're catered for; you've got access to the internet so you can get in touch with a wide range of people. I'm from Africa and I know kids in your situation or worse who don't get a second glance. It's the way of the world. Toughen up, this is a part of your life. One day you'll have to use all the experiences you've gained and these memories will be a part of that. Take it as a challenge, don't let those dark forces get you down. Life is too short to let those things preoccupy you. Fight for whatever you believe in. If you don't believe in anything then find something to believe in, and believe it for yourself. If you ever want to talk or spit something out, you can get at me by e-mail or IM.

Follow your spirit.

It is sad for you. It's kind of a pity there isn't some type of project you all could work on together (as age appropriate, of course), that would distract you all from fighting with each other and give you all something else to focus on.

Wow, you poor kid. Do you have a MySpace? There are many nice kids your age on there. You have your sister, that's important and it seems like you are a good listener, I bet all of the other kids there look up to you! Good luck.
