Yep, at MetLife we are able to put up to 40% of our paycheck into a 401(k) for before tax contributions or a Roth 401(k) for after tax contributions up to a maximum of about $14,000 a year. After one year the company matches us up to 3% of our pay, but they take most of it back if we leave the company within 5 years of being hired.

Yes, but it is pretty pathetic. I have worked for this particular hospital for 33 years and my penison will be around $350-/month. So, I plan to hang on til at least 65 before I retire!

You do qualify for an IRA in case your enterprise supplies a 401(ok) plan. You qualify for a common IRA in case your income is below seventy 5,000 for 2006. you're able to make a in part deductible contribution in case your income is below 80 5,000. those quantities boost for the 2007 tax 3 hundred and sixty 5 days to 83K and 103K. in case you do no longer qualify for the deductible classic IRA you're able to qualify for a non deductible ROTH IRA.
