no. It depends on what song youre playing. If youre doing a fast song like ummm, idk....A Sailors Tale (no lyrics), then It would be fast. The key signature also tells you what rythem to follow.
ect. Its kinda confusing at first. Anyway, If its for example, 3,
4
you just count it 1...2...3 1...2...3
instead of 1..2..3..4 1..2..3..4. Get it? If you need more help, let me know! :]

They should count at the speed of the song but I suppose they don't always have to if all they are doing is starting at the same time.
As a drummer (ugly non musician) it always makes me furious when a singer (i.e. good looking non musician) counts 1-2-3-4 for a song in 3/4 time or 5/4 time.

Actually, musicians count to two, to three, to four, to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, etc., depending on the "time signature" of the piece of music. And if the musicians aren't synchronized in their music their timing will be off and it will sound bad, so yes, they do have to do it at the same speed - its called "tempo".

because the time key is at that speed. It's how musicians know the tempo. Take a music class, it's the first thing you learn (and probably the most important)

they can count at any speed they want. they usually count to make sure that they start smoothly and in time. musicians in a band count at any speed they want just to make sure that everyone in the band starts playing at the same time.

They just count to be in tunes with each others. so the speed does not depends on the song.

Very few musicians count while they play--it becomes intuitive very quickly.
