I think 15/16 is fine alone for a couple days, any younger than that is definately a NO NO.
I remember when I just turned 16 my mom let me stay home alone for a long weekend, it took me about 3 hours to call my Uncle to take me to the lake where the rest of the family was. :)
PS. If I heard of anyone leaving their 12 year old alone even overnight, I would be on the phone to child protective services so fast you wouldn't believe this fat azz could move like that!

Well i know the age limit is 13 but i don't know if it is different for extended periods of time
i would be more worried about what will happen when you are gone
Im 16 and just being honest no matter what they say something will happen and you will probably never find out because they are older and have learned to cover their tracks
A friend of mine also 16 stayed home 2 weeks while her mom was out of town and her 13 year old brother stayed too
Her bf stayed the night almost every night and went out and partied
I don't know you are the kids just telling you what really goes on

Well, it depends on how trustworthy are your children..? I was allowed to stay home unattended for a couple days, but I worked and hung out with my friends.. I wasn't completely good, but the cops didn't show up either... So, as long as you know that some mischief will occur I don't think it's a big deal.. Have the neighbors keep a gentle eye on things.. Or pop in once in awhile.

Legally you are probably not supposed to leave them home for that long until they are 18, but I don't know for sure.
I would think that 15/16 is old enough. Give them some money to order pizza or whatever, and tell them no parties(which will undoubtedly happen anyway).

It depends on how responsible they are. I think it should be OK, if you trust them. Also, is there anyone who can check on them each day such as an aunt, grandma or family friend? I would also phone them every 6 hours to check on them. Legally, I don't know the answer. I think it may be 12.

I would say that is old enough, but just expect them to be living on the edge while you are away.
