If a guy is a little shy, what is something he could do to get your attention? Make you take a second glance....

Be open and honest, be bold, a girl likes a man to walk right up to her, ask her out, give admiring glances, give lots of compliments, honest ones, do not over do it, do something spontanious, give her some flowers, send love letters, send lovely cards, give little presents, take her somewhere, such as on a lake in a punt, or a picnic by the river.
To get noticed you need to show interest from a distance, a smile, alonger look, wear some nice cloths, make it look like you are trying to impress, find out her likes and dislikes before hand if possible.

Think about every love story or fairytale that you've ever watched. What was it that those guys did to get the attention? Do those types of things. Every girl deep down inside wants to be made to feel like a princess, like she is the most important person in the world.

Notice something that I am doing, and either strike up a conversation about it, or ask a question about it.
For example - I am sitting in the park or on a bus bench reading a book, and you ask me about the book, or tell me that you read it(if you have) and ask me how I liked a particular character in the book. Or If I have a package with a store name on it, asking me what the store is like, what do I like best there, etc.
If you get the other person to talk about themselves or what they are doing, it makes the conversation flow a little easier.

Open doors and be a gentlemen. If you see a girl you like give her quick eye contact with a little smile. Don't stare but quickly look her in the eyes and then a minute or two later do it again with a sweet little smile. Draws my attention :)

Maybe compliment me. Not going overboard either. Meaning, don't compliment every day (too obvious). Small talk without overt flirting is nice. Overt flirting turns me off. Makes you look like a whoredog scouting out his next conquest.
