10^2x-5=1000
10^(2x-5) =10^3
2x-5 = 3
2x= 8
x=4

(2x-5)ln10 = ln1000
2x-5 = ln1000/ln10
2x = ln1000/ln10 +5
x = (ln1000/ln10 +5)/2
x = (3 +5)/2 = 4

Two different ways give same answer.

I assume you mean 10^(2x-5) = 1000, in which case this can be written as 10^(2x-5) = 10^3, which simplifies to 2x-5=3, or x = 4.

nicely, to start, you're taking ln of the two facets (organic log) so which you get ln4^(x+7)=ln6 using the regulation of logarithms, you may simplify the equation to: (x+7)ln4=ln6 simplify some extra... (divide by using ln4 on the two facets) (x+7)=ln6/ln4 so, x= ln6/ln4 -7 :D
