Go with dancing. You can go further more easily then for cheerleading. And you get more publicity. By the way, your sister is right, dancers do hate cheerleaders because cheerleaders are wannabe dancers. Everyone at my studio would kill a cheerleader if they had the chance. Good luck!!!

I know that in parts of Louisiana you cant be both a cheerleader and a dancer because there is a lot of competition between the two. I was a dancer and I believe that dancing would be the better choose, but you should do what ever makes you feel good. You have to ask yourself what makes you happier and is most fulfilling. No one can answer that question except you. Good luck.

well, i would choose dancing b/c you can do that all your life. i think it takes more talent. thats just me. you can do both, but unless you get into the professional cheerleading squads, dance takes more talent. it's much harder to do 9 turns in seconds than yell out, "2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate?!?! GO TIGERS!!! WOO HOO!! YIPPEEE!!" while waving around pom poms. DONT GET ME WRONG cheerleading takes talent, but coming from a girl who's school has a cheerleading squad that is so bad it's not even funny, dancing takes more talent.
this is just my opinion, so dont hate me if you have a different one......

I don't think they all hate cheerleaders. But there are sometimes sibling rivalries between school dance and cheer teams.

why do you have to choose? your sister doesn't know what she's talking about- the best cheerleaders i know have a background in dance- INCLUDING professional ones! i doubt there's a single dallas cheerleader who hasn't taken ballet....anyway, dancing is a life-long social skill. have you ever heard of a "cheer-party"? i haven't, but i've been to dozens of dance parties.
