They are included in the ban, I read in some paper that they were complaining. But no doubt they will carry on because they seem to stick together and they won't report their own. Anyhow there will probably be a mass protest outside Parliament by flag burning Muslims, and our gutless government will give in to them!

I guess that it will pretty much kill them off.
Which seems completely unfair to me. I smoked a sheesha pipe in Tunisia and really enjoyed it. It's certainly not as harmful as cigarettes, although it takes some practice!
But the law as it stands is clear on the subject and lit tobacco in any form in which it can be smoked is banned in any indoor public area.
But Ibrahim El Nour, chief executive of the Edgware Road Traders Association is heading a campaign lobbying the House of Lords in an attempt to get sheesha exempted from the new regulations. I suppose it might be worth getting in contact with him to see if you can help his campaign.
Personally, I think the government has gone too far with this law - it is overbearing and treats people like children. It will be junk food and alcohol next and then they'll start on those real menaces, unpasteurised milk and pate. Soon you'll have to keep a time sheet of how long you spend at the gym and send it in to the Department for Health every month!

I am a nonsmoker and think a total ban is unnecessary especially in Pubs and Clubs. There could be smoking and non-smoking areas. But if there is a total ban then it must include sheesha cafes. If they don't like it then go to a Muslim country where it will be allowed.

It is the thin end of the wedge - Fifi has got that right. It all come down to banning or taxing it or on most occasions both.

I don't know.
On a similar subject I wondered if it effects the prisoners on death row also? After all even the non smokers are going to die anyway and not just from passive smoking.

Strangely enough, I dont believe hookah ( figure thats what you are refering to) bars are included in the ban. While I dont know the wording of the law, I do know that there are several in New York City that still operate.
