I am looking for a Long Finned Oscar, Preferably white. But the only thing I can find are the Veil tailed Oscars. Are they the same fish? Is there anything I should know when looking for this fish?

Yep, two names for the same fish. When looking to buy one, look for the normal things. Healthy fish that will eat well before you buy it. Also be sure you have room for him. They grow large and they grow fast. Even a small Oscar will need at least a 55 gallon within a year to 18 months.

Yes, Veil tailed is what you're looking for. There's not much specifically to look for, except that the store you buy them from has healthy tanks and the Oscars in that specific tank look healthy and active. Make sure you have done your research and have at least a 60 gallon aquarium for him (not to say you haven't, but many people don't)
