I am a Brewer fan so help on this

The 'stros are not totally out of it in ther NL central, Biggio is sitting 2 of 3 (last night and Wednesday) against the Brewers, to enhance his chances at 3000 in Minute Maid park.

Do you agree with this, do you not need his bat as much as possible?

I hope he goes 4 for 4 tonight and they still lose!

Tom

my question is should Biggio be sitting games just to get into the record books at home or should he be playing as much as possible.

They actually have a rule that you have to field your best team (except for injuries and the needed day off. In fact, they forced Aaron to play when he was close to Ruth's record), however, it's clear that this Biggio isn't the same one of a few years ago and if he wasn't approaching 3000, would he be a bench player?

They are doing the team thing to let him get to 3000 when in another day and age they will be dealing with him differently.

I hope he gets it in front of the home town crowd for the very reason that he's been there, always.

Different if it's Wade Boggs, going from Boston to NY to tampa and them sitting him out so he can get hit 3,000 in front of the home town fans of one year.

As I unswerving Yankee fan, i'm hoping that he manages to stay a participant or a minimum of a coach for the Astros, for i think of that's a shame that Ausmus, Biggio and Bagwell would not be decrease back at the same time next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. maximum of my Astros thoughts have those adult adult males, i know that Ausmus grow to be traded to Detroit and decrease back to Houston, besides the indisputable fact that he's the Astros catcher, like Craig Biggio the Astros 2nd baseball and Jeff Bagwell the Astros icon in first base.... He could get an incentive deal like what the A's did to Frank Thomas....

If Biggion was producing offensively this year as he has most of his career than your question is a no-brainer. He absolutely must play at least two of the three games in the series for the integrity of the game - winning always comes first.

The fact that Biggio is not having a great year muddies this question because it is not definitive that he is one of the team's most potent offensive weapons. Because of this, and the fact the Astros are true long shots this year (yes, I know they have consistently been a second-half team under Garner), I am willing to cut them some slack.

I think that he's actually hurting the team. But with as much as he's done for the 'stros throughout the years, they owe it to him, to play him until he gets 3000. However, after he reaches the 3000 mark, I believe he should no longer start on a regular basis, because he's not hitting tremendously well, and in the field, he just can't get to that many balls. I think in order to get back into the race, they've got to get him his hits soon, and then bench him.

Biggio's rates are .238/.279/.390.

That would be bad in the deadball era. His bat really is not being an asset this season.

So, yeah, let him get the milestone poke at home, with all the attendant hoopla and hollerin'. The season is toast, it's his victory lap, give him a cheer. Your guys are (at long, LONG last) going to play on in October. Focus on that. It may not have happened in your lifetime; it may not again.

im a really big astros fan too but i think he should reach his 3000 hit here at home it would be way more exciting and i think the astros can win with out him even though they are playing with the brewers the best in their division and one of the best teams right now

Craig should be sitting a lot more than he is. Him coming off the bench is better for the stros. I love Bigg, but its that time. Once he gets to 3K, he needs to at least split time.

With the way the Stros are playing, they need anything they can get to win the game.
