Many of the answers given are very hard on the Indian cricket
team.Indians must understand that cricket is a hard, hard game and the most important is to do the best with what you have got.Gambling on cricket is the big problem not cricket. The Indian team at the moment is very uneven but that will sort itself out.Too pressure is placed on them They get dreadful reactions when they loose and that reaction by their does not help.Imagine you have tried your best and you loose and you are booed off the ground.Sportsmanship is about being a good winner and being a good looser.
Tighten up your law on bookmakers and let your players get on with their game.My analises is that they tried.

After the easy wins against Sri Lanka and West Indies in the series held in India prior to World Cup, Indian team was very complacent and over confident about their chances in the World Cup. Their first match in the ICC World Cup was against Bangladesh. They underestimated Bangladesh and paid the prize for the same.

Though India won convincingly against Bermuda, the match against Sri Lanka was a do or die situationm for India as they had to beat Sri Lanka in order to qualify for the Super
8 stage. However, the pressure was too much for the players and they wilted under pressure and lost to Sri Lanka and was knocket out of the World Cup.

Though BCCI reacted strong;ly about the poor performance of the Indian Team in the face of public outcry and announced that they will take hard steps to improve the performance of the team, nothing concretely has been done so far.

the players were overconfident and have a hungry for money the immense involvement of players in advertisement and other things like business has a greater role than practicising cricket ,the bcci was not brave enough to take any strong decisions the selection committe should also b blamed, ther r some players in our team whom shud b stuckin to team usin claws eliminate them , after world cup it was better for bcci to ban players frm appearin in advertisements for more than three products, but later it also given in player's favour , the team wil not go high if the bcci continue this position

i think the match against sri lank and Bangladesh was a fix because they were in good form against the west indies.

and also against Bermuda they break a record for making the most runs in a world cup match.

so it cannot be a coincidence that they suddenly start to play rubbish in 2 must win matches
the same goes with Pakistan.

so its abvioulsy match fixing !!!

They were very unlucky. They had two bad days and they had to come home. England and West Indies also played poorly but they entered to the Super 8. It happend because of bad match schedule.
