"rhythms" is the longest (real) English word with no vowels, as long as you don't count the y

Pretty much any word with a "y" (cry, sly, fry--as mentioned earlier by someone else, pry, etc). But of course, the elusive "y" has been understood to function as a vowel.

Also, some onomatopoeias work as well, like "zzzz. . ." or "snkt"--the sound effect of Wolverine's claws coming out in the comic books.

In Hmong, we have words that use "w" as a vowel.

Hi all
The longest word is TWYNDYLLYNGS

Twyndyllyngs is the longest word in English that doesn't contain one of the five vowels (AEIOU). It comes from Welsh and is obviously rare, but it does appear in the Oxford English Dictionary.

It turns out that "twyndyllyng" (singular) is a 15th century spelling of the word "twinling," which means, in modern English, "twin."

the word "nth" is used in math terms to explain an unknown value to multiply a number by its own value several times. also, we say a situation is carried to the nth degree in order to say it is carried too far.
