u no those ones usually wen ur settn up a new account or something to verify that ur doing it ,they ask u to type in the followin code...like fgy4s...its usually all squiggly and impossible to understand so uv 2 do the hole thing again.....

Yeah, I've noticed that too. Usually they have a button you can click to change it to a new code that you can read easier.

The reason they do this is so people can't have their computer programs sign up for a thousand email addresses in a matter of minutes. Because computers do not recognize those codes.

I don't know. That's a good question. If they're trying to protect the site from robots it's not like the robots can read.
