Bush is one of the most phony conservatives I have seen. Me being a die hard conservative I can smell a phony like Bush or Cheney from a mile away. We have posers who don't do their research and think Bush is a conservative and support him. Bush's loyalty is to foreign oil and big business, not America. The last true conservative politician we had was Ronald Reagan and George Bush is nothing close to how great and conservative of a President Reagan was.

Exposing liberals: I supported Reagan, and Lincoln and Reagan were definitely in my top 3, but Bush is not.

You're right, that Bush isn't a conservative in the traditional sense of the word. But then, it's questionable that Reagan was either.
In fact, Bush has held to some basic conservative principles much more consistently than Reagan. Reagan signed many tax increases, including one that was larger than Clinton's. People like to forget that, but check the record and it's true. Bush hasn't signed any. Bush has done more against abortion than Reagan, who always talked a conservative line on abortion but never did a thing about it.
The fact is, Bush had, both in 2000 and 2004, the active and enthusiastic support of nearly everybody who is a self-labeled conservative, and that includes nearly everybody still around who was an active supporter of Reagan. Sure you can find exceptions, but he had maybe 98% of them, and for years after it became clear that he wasn't remotely serious about cutting government. So he is a conservative, and his failures are the failures of conservatism. Conservatives need to deal with this, if they are serious about building a more honest and responsible conservative movement. Or, if they only care about power, they can pretend he was never one of them and look for a new conservative hero who will fail again.

Cheney called Bush a "big government conservative." How can a conservative be big government?
Cheney and Bush are traitors. They are desecrating the Constitution in order to further their own agenda, which has nothing to do with serving the PEOPLE'S best interest. The damage they have done to our country is heartbreaking.
Hilary, Obama, Edwards, Romney, Guliani, and Mccain are ALL working toward the same agenda as Bush and Cheney. They are loyal to special interests and big money - over the Constitution and the American people. We are losing our country. Welcome to the USSA.

seem at what have been the different substantial techniques on the time, Gore and Kerry. regrettably Bush became the extra powerful option. He became truthfully a financial liberal even with the undeniable fact that no longer a social liberal. regrettably the present political gadget precludes a substantial third social gathering candidate from gaining any traction considering they could in simple terms take votes removed from the main political candidate that's extra heavily aligned with their regulations splitting the votes and "giving" the election to the different even much less suited candidate. in simple terms seem what got here approximately in ninety two, Perot garnered 20% of the vote giving the election to Clinton. ninety % of people that voted for him could have voted against Clinton had he no longer been interior the race.

For God's sake, don't call him a liberal. No self respecting liberal would not want their name mentioned in the same sentence as George Bush.

Some liberal on Yahoo Answers trying to tell Bush he's not a conservative... classic. Bush is the third greatest president in American history, behind Lincoln and Reagan.

Reagan wasnt a true conservative-still increase gov't and spent wildly, allowed secret gov't, allowed monopolistic business, etc. He was much closer than Bush, but still relatively Liberal.

One can't, at least not a traditional one. Socially he seems to meet most of the criteria. Fiscally though, although he has managed to lower taxes I don't see him pressing congress enough about the excessive spending.
