I am working on my first stained glass lampshade and I don't know how to tin the spider that it hangs from. Is there a trick to it? I can't solder it to the inside solder seam. What am I doing wrong?

Do you use the copper 'tape' to fix the glass? Or lead?
In either case, try to threat the spider as if it was a piece of glass. That way you can solder it into the lamp.

If you can not get it to work, try with a different spider, they are not that expensive but need to be real safe to use.

Do not use glue, as a lamp-shade can get very hot.

Stained glass products are created from glass. they could be dealt with with a patina to coloration the soldering a black ( or different finishes) and there's a polish this is positioned on the glass and solder lines. it could sound like plastic simply by small products, yet whilst that's a lamp that's actual glass. Plastic will possibly not likely postpone to the warmth of a lamp.
