IMO its poison.

You take it every three months (12 weeks) and it protects against pregnancy (99% effective) but not against STD's.

There are many side affects with the shot, so I'd never recommend it to anyone. You could have weight gain, mood swings, loss of libido, hair loss, headaches, spotting at odd times, etc. Also it screws with your bone health.

Although every woman has a different outcome, a majority of women on the depo shot have had negative side affects.

There are class action lawsuits against Pfizer for what it does to women.

It is a shot that is a form of birth control. It typically last for 3 months. Beware though of how you will react to this. When I had the Depo shot, I was on my period for 3 months straight!! NOT FUN
