Neurology and genetics are suggesting that many behaviors are biologically determined ("nature"), even more than the "nurture" of training and experience. The trend is for more and more behaviors to be determined by genetics.

The basic law in the US is based on the premise that you own your body. If you are under the age of majority (18 in most states but some go as low as 16 I believe) your parents have say over your body. This is saying a thinking mind can take information and formulate an informed decision on their health care.

The only challenges to free will come when there is a challenge to how well you can think. If you develop Alzheimer's or a similar condition it will normally fall to a family member to make medical decisions. Genetics does not come into play on health decisions and that is a dangerous road to even think about heading down.

Genetic basis is being used as an excuse for homosexuality.

Who cares where heterosexuality or homosexuality comes from. We all want to blame something/someone else for the things in our lives.

Who really cares why some are homesexual and some are heterosexual.

In the words of Rodney King..."Why can't we all just get along?"
