Hi, I have a 512 MB USB Pen drive (it actually says 491 in My Computer), and my Windows says that it can increase its size by almost double if I compress it, I'm not sure if I should because I did this to a floppy and only my computer was able to read it. So I ask you guys this can I compress it to increase its physical space??? Or should I just leave it to avoid any errors and complications??

Thanks to everyone who answers in advance.

NEVER NEVER NEVER compress any drive. About 5 years ago Microsoft came out with the compressed drive technology. The industry discovered that once you send files to a compressed drive, when you copy them back to a drive that is uncompressed the files become corrupt.

As the saying goes, if it is not broke why fix it. Your files are not broke so do not fix them. Levae the drive as is.

just leave it how it is if you need more space then you really need to go out and buy it
