Ok i have a slightly different answer , the salt and cedar is good as well as smudging with sage.(I'm shure this will encure the wrath of others) There is the possibility that your child has the shine and can see otherworldly entities. Including members of the fairy court. have your kid wear a hematite bracelet. or put a piece in their pocket. the metal in the stone may help to repel the fey.
Also sprinkling red brick powder across your door steps will keep anything that means harm from entering. All of the things you do need to be done with clear intention of your purpose
If you think its following you ,cross over moving water and see if it is still an issue.
If its already in the house you may need someone to come and join you in a cleansing ceremony. Just google them there are lots out there .check with some Santeria sites as well as Wicca.
And even though im obviously pagan, a priest blessing the house may be something that will make your family feel better if you are Christians.
even if these thing sound crazy ive been where you are now and the most you loose is a little time.but what you may gain is your "normal" life back . blessings B

salt does not remove spirits, the reason why people spread salt is to repel negativity and stop evil as evil beings have the compulsion to stop and count every grain. It is why it is used to surround property. If you have a spirit in the house spreading salt will not help, firstly you need to find out who they are and why they are there, because you refer to it as a baba yaga this is what Italians call witches. you need to do more research before you move this spirit on, who owned the property prior to you? if it is not family it will be easier to move them on if however the land or house has been in the family then the spirit has found a descendant and eager to either give a message or stay, ask the spirit to give you a message in a dream if their prescence is scary, temperature changes in certain spots will alert you to where they are, it can be quite significant also accompained by certain smells.
Ask the spirit to leave and explain they scare you, if there is a message ask for a sign either by asking them to flicker a light or something distinct. Its not advisable to move any spirit on without due cause, some will not leave gracefully and will act like a poltergeist if pushed.

The spirit is not outside of your house, but attached to your house itself. More than likely it is the prior owner of the house or land that your house is built on or has some sort of connection to that place.

Salt will help keep spirits away but it will not automatically cause spirits to leave. Have you asked the spirit to leave? Command the spirit to leave your house and sacred space, tell the spirit that it is your house now and you do not want it there any more.

Smudging some sage, a sage stick is a bundle of sage, will help clear the house of any negative energy and entities. But while you are smudging the sage you have to say and hold the intention that you are smudging the sage to clear your house of all that is not of your highest and greatest good and beleive that it is clearing away all entities that do not belong to you and are not of your highest and greatest good.

I would also suggest calling upon Arch Angel Michael to come to your house and would ask him to guide that spirit home. Ask him to protect you and your family from all that is not of your highest good and to keep out all entities, spirits and negative energy that is not of your highest good.

Salt needs to be used frequently for it to work, put it in a container and then when it has become caked wash it down the drain. Once a year is not enough if you have a lot of spiritual activity in your home.

1) Maybe your "spirit" is inside the house and trapped there by your salt barriers, not outside trying to get in.

2) How has the salt been treated? I mean, has it sat in the back of a cupboard in a cardboard box absorbing odors and getting stale for four months, or has it been given proper its due respect?

3) Is there even anything present?

4) Sometimes it DOES matter hat kind of salt you use. Pure sea salt or blessing salts from religious suppliers are best.

5) Does it even melt the ice on your porch? Maybe you're using sugar, Captain Genius.

6) What's to stop "them" from getting inside (assuming they're outside to begin with) during the summer when you've stopped putting salt out?

Is there a reason you want to get rid of them so badly? What do they do? I've heard slamming doors will trap them in the doorways and they will leave. But perhaps they are spirits trying to speak to you. Some great suggestions have already been listed. Especially the point that you may have trapped them in there with the salt barrier.

Salt is used by the white witches (pagans) to keep evil away/out. Maybe this woman is not evil. She stares at him because she notices that your son can see her. She is trying to get someones attention to solve whatever issue she has or thinks she has. You're going about this the wrong way.
You need more like a ghost whisperer (psychic), not a witch.
Good luck.

BABA YAGA IS NOT A SPIRIT OR A GHOST IS A BULGARIAN NAME FOR A WITCH- I KNOW SO COZ I AM BULGARIAN. SALT IS ONLY FOR ABSORBING NEGATIVE ENERGIES. GARLIC AND NAILS ARE USEFUL ON YOUR PORCH/DOORSTEP AND A BROOMSTICK AS SPIRITS/DEMONS STOP TO COUNT THE HAIR/STRANDS AND NEVER COME IN. PLEASE GIVE MORE DETAILS TO WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO KEEP AWAY FROM YOUR HOUSE SO I COULD POSSIBLY GIVE YOU THE WAY TO DO THIS.

THANKS

I don't think that salt will make them go away, I thought that they couldn't cross a line of salt. If the spirits are in your house and you put salt around it, then they can't get out. I would think that you'd have to have them exocised and then do the salt thing.

Asker, listen to goddess B and Unity. Disregard the rest of the uninformed.
SALT- TABLE, ROCK, SEA-ALL WILL WORK TO DISPEL NEGATIVITY. FORGET THIS CRAP ABOUT TRAPPING THEM, IT GETS RID OF THEM.
If however you are still having difficulty, try these; place a bowl of water with hyssop essential oil, or a sprig of hyssop, next to the primary entrance to the home. It's like a big neon arrow to spirits telling them to get the heck out.
Blessed Be

your suppose to completely circle you home with it, or at lease put it at the bottom of every entrance into your home. Like the doors, windows, fireplace, etc. Sea salt or black salt is often used for this, but in my own opinion any salt should work.
