I said yes to the war and would do so again tomorrow. I was never misled, but my reasons were also not that of the administration. I felt that Hussein should have been removed from power in 91 and nothing has changed that opinion over the intervening years since. However, I do believe it is time for us to leave Iraq. I do not see strong evidence that the Iraqis are taking the lead in securing their own country and we cannot play cop between rival forces forever in this country. Further, we cannot force democracy on these people. If Democracy is what they desire they must stand and fight for it for themselves. So I guess you could say that I was not against the war, but I am not happy with the peace in it's current form.

sadly, those who say yes to war at ANY time rarely regret the decision... I don't think ANY reasonable human being would every honestly agree to and vote yes for a war...

There are those of cousre who simply "followed suit" becasue they thought they should... I think that's often more dangerous that the nut jobs that vote yes in the first place... these are the people who simply can't make thier own decisions and look where it's got us?

I was against going to war (on the ground) in Iraq and Afghanistan, and, while I still think it's a mistake, I realize, now, that it'd be a bigger mistake accept defeat.

I NEVER said yes, because I knew both: War would destabilize the Middle East, and Bush was too stupid to be president.

NOW that even Senator Lugar has withdrawn his support for the failed Bush strategy (thanks a lot Rummy) it really is over.

All those soldiers killed and wounded for nothing.
