You are an MLB outfielder who is known for robbing Homers, and you have been blessed with incredible hops. Youre standing in center field, and Barry Bonds is at bat. Bonds hit his 755th Home Run 2 nights ago, and the world is watching to see if he hits #756 tonight, possibly right now. A fastball right down the middle, Bonds gets most of it, and its headed barely over your head. You look back, the outfield wall is only about 6 feet tall and the ball is barely going to make it. You could snatch this Home Run away from Bonds and keep Hammerin' Hank's record alive for a day longer. If youre going to rob the home run, you need to jump, now.

What do you do? Do you rob Barry Bonds of his record breaking Homer, or do you let him have his possibly tainted record?

You snatch it, otherwise Bonds didn't earn the record and you screwed your team.

You rob it. You do whats best for your team. You gotta make Bonds earn it too. If it's there you take it. You don't let it go by just to see Bonds break the record and then possibly lose the game. I quote Herm Edwards here when i say "You play to win the game!" And if it gets out that you let the ball go, your fans will boo you like they do Bonds.

Most definitely jump to grab the ball. The object to the game is to win any which we you can. If it robs someone from a record so be it. The W's are more important than records.

I would definetely rob the homer, or at least attempt to. He'll probably break the record another night, but if you were playing at home, the fans would go crazy because they probably hate Bonds.

Anyone who stood there and deliberately let the ball go for a homer deserves to be fined, suspended, and possibly sent back to the minors for more seasoning. It doesn't matter whether it was hit by Bonds or a rookie playing in his first game.

If you asked 100 mlb players this they would all say they would catch the ball because they arent out there to let guys get records there out there to win and do there best they would never just let a guy have a homer

This situation actually has more to do with your integrity than Bonds. Record or not, you are still playing in a major league game, and you have the responsibility to play to win that game. In any case, you take the homerun away to give your team a better chance to win.

I jump and try to catch it, of course.

Now, I suck at jumping, so it probably rides all the way and Bonds makes his victory trot. But I'd always know that I tried, and get to be the historical footnote/trivia answer as the guy who almost caught #756.
