I'm thinking along the lines of singer songwriters. I have looked, listened, but no one seems to be as good as that man. I really like his early stuff, especially "Songs of Love and Hate" but "Songs From a Room", and "Songs of Leonard Cohen" are all really good too. So any suggestions of artist who are similar to him? Thanks.

Nope. But that's a personal opinion.

But there are other good male singer/songwriters out there. These are the ones I have on my computer:

Bill Morrissey
Charlie Musselwhite
Damien Rice
Dave Van Ronk
David Bromberg
Dr. John
Fred Eaglesmith
John Cale
John Prine
Kinky Friedman
Kris Kristofferson (sang back-ups for Cohen a very long time ago)
Mark Knopfler
Nick Drake
Paul Simon
Randy Newman
Sam Bush
Shel Silverstein
Todd Snider
Tom Lehrer
Tom Waits
Warren Zevon

How about Tim Buckley, Lou Reed, or Tom Wait? Not saying they're necessarily better or as good as Cohen, just similar styles.

BTW, I bet, sadly, most people on YA have no idea who Leonard Cohen is.
