Forget the fake critters... the gulls are smarter than that. The only things I've seen work are "gull sweeps". They are long thin pieces of wire with little airfoils on the end. They stick onto hard surfaces with suction cups and rotate slowly in the slightest breeze. Stringing monofilament back and forth as someone else mentioned will work as well. For a fun solution, there is a Rain-Bird sprinkler that is matched up with a motion sensor. Hook to a water hose, and if anything comes into sensor range, it sprays them! Works, and fun to watch as well.

So, you not like seagulls? They will be trying to crap on your head now. The answer about the nails in a board may work. Also, may try some cloth streamers that blow around in the wind. But, most likely they there to stay without a lot of work. Sorry.

this works for real. Take a spool of fishing line and string it back and forth somehow on top about a foot off the top .
They avoid it and can see it from a distance.

Put some boards with spikes or nails sticking upwards on the roof and pretty soon they'll learn not to land there.

We put burgies or flags on the poles or rails or antennas. The wind blowing them seem to stop them from roosting. Good Luck!!

fake snake, fake owl, the problem is that "Herring Gull's" are pretty damn smart, c'mon, you don't like the sound of the "Laughing Gull" when you go to board your boat in the summer ? I love the sound of sea gull's, It's that damn racoon that keeps leaving muddy footprints on my boat that I want, he ate a crab on my boat and left a mess, no manners, I just hosed it off, remember that "WE" are on "THEIR" TURF ! we are just visiting for the summer !
