..would've given this story as much attention?
I mean if EVERYTHING was exactly like is is now except for Jessie and Bobby being the same race, white/white, black/black, etc. would we even known about this story?
Just curious as to what your thoughts are?

Side note: The Laci Petersen case didn't get IMMEDIATE national attention like this case did. Laci, if I recall, had been missing for quite awhile before it got to the national media.
For those inferring that I'm 'race baiting' must have a chip on their shoulder because that wasn't my intent.

I believe it was because she was 8 months pregnant. I heard an interesting statistic last night. Apparently the number one cause of death for pregnant women is murder.

Not sure if race is so much a factor in this case! I think the fact that she was 9 months pregnant was what got the story so much media attention! Same as Laci/Scott Peterson...they were both white and look how much attention that story got, because Laci was pregnant.

Ugh, why does it always have to be about race. And no, the media was on the Peterson case a day or two after she went missing. I am so sick of people using race as a reason to justify or slam the way a story is covered. It is a tragedy committed by a psychotic scumbag and who cares that he and she were of different races.

Why sure. The white-dominated media is just doing all this because the lovable Mr. Cutts is black. Thats the only reason. Remember?...... there was absolutely NO media coverage on the Lacy Peterson murder. This was because Scott Peterson was white. So this story never once made it to the evening news or into newspapers. No one ever heard about the Lacy Peterson case!! You see, everything "bad" that happens to a black person is the result of white racism. Thats the way it has always been. I am sure that Mr. (I'm Yo Daddy) Cutts is the true victim here......not this pregnant white woman. If he is convicted it will be just because he is black, and not as a result of the evidence. Yep.

Not in this day in time. We had the white teenager who was kidnapped and killed by a white man and now a black man on a white woman and I have seen reports of a missing black girl who went to Florida. So I have seen nothing that shows any kind of bias.
That does not mean there will not be others who try to make something racial out of it. They always do, to deflect people's minds from the facts. However, Glenn Beck crossed the line for me last night when he kept making comments on how ugly one of the defendants was in the Cutts murder thing. That was totally uncalled for.

I don't think race matters in this situation. The story is shocking and horrific on it's own merits. Killing a pregnant woman is beyond most people's comprehension (Lacy Peterson). Doing it in front of his two year old son, and leaving him alone in the house is even worse. This story would be getting attention, regardless of race.

Scott and Laci Peterson ring a bell ?....I think the circumstances of this crime is similar to what happen there..and it was all over the place for a long time...I think this guy being a cop and her getting ready to birth a child might end up putting more emphasis on this crime...not the color of his or her skin ....

You may as well ask if the Christian/Newsom double rape/torture/murder in Knoxville would have garnered attention if Christian and Newsom were black and the perpetrators white. As it is, it seems no one knows about that case.
In the case you are asking about, I think it garnered attention because it was a missing pregnant woman. I didn't even know the suspect was black until I saw I picture a day ago.

i think of it is so unhappy for Blake. i understand alot of human beings have anger in the direction of Bobby(as do I) yet as a mom it breaks my coronary heart each time i think of of the two 12 months outdated. He has lost his mom on the palms of his father and consequently lost his father. i wish justice is served for Jessie!
