The war in Iraq is not about winning. It is about keeping American troops there and making money for corporate sources. The Bush administration does not care about these guys dying or being maimed for life. They are brave and gallant and the ultimate of patriotic and they deserve far better than what they are getting from Bush. There has been no clear mission since this thing started. Bush conveniently used the tragedy of 9/11 to get a war started that he had wanted for years. It is tragic that those who want wars so badly have never put their own lives on the line for this country. The ones that bleed and die for their loft ideals are not the ones that wage war. America was scared after 9/11 and Bush fabricated just enough information to get permission to fight....to protect the USA. When no WMD or link to Al Queda were found, it became a fight to bring an unwanted democracy to Iraq. Meanwhile the country and our military suffer for his incompetence. This will go on as long as George Bush is in the role of president or a republican occupies that role. We have another VietNam with no safe way to leave and dire consequence if we stay. I wonder what these that so support this war think would happen if our country were physically invaded and our military strength weakened and dispersed to Iraq. Bush needs impeachment and America needs to wake up. Bush has neither the guts or grace to admit he lied and this war was a huge mistake. So.....more will die daily until he leaves office. I see no end in sight. Evenmore, what worries me is that he will start up another war with another nation such as Iran and get us in the middle of another world war.

We've given them nearly 4 1/2 years already to try to fix Iraq, why should this failed strategy make us have to wait that much longer before our troops get out. The White House is just stalling.

For those who don't know. There was an insurgency in Germany for many years after WWII. We just didn't call it that back then.

It took us 4 years to defeat Germany and Japan.
It took us 4 weeks in Iraq.
We are still in Germany and Japan.
What was your point again?

If you would perfer, we could go by a death to time ratio
WW2 = 407,300 people in 4.5 years = 90,511 deaths/yer
Iraq = approx 3500 (don't know the exact number) in x (not finished) years.
407,300 / 4.5 = 3500 / x solve for x
1/x = 25.8 years.

The objective is to gain control of the petroleum resources and in order to do that, they need a stable society. As we can see, it ain't stable. But, it's not going to become stable, unless the invaders (U.S.) leave or the natives give in, to the subjugation.

As responsible voting citizens we have given the chimp more time than any other president has had - except for Vietnam. What should this tell the average citizen?
